Senior Press Officer

London SE1

£32185 - £36933
Campaign to Protect Rural England

CPRE believe that a beautiful, tranquil, diverse and productive countryside is fundamental to people's quality of life, wherever they live and we campaign nationally and locally for positive solutions for the long-term future of the countryside. With high levels of interest in the environment, a forthcoming general election and local and national campaigns shaping the future of the countryside, now is an exciting time to join us. It’s also a challenging time to be heard in an increasingly noisy arena, which is why we need a skillful and tenacious media person to join our team.

The Senior Press Officer will lead CPRE’s press and media activities, generating new ideas to make our use of the media more effective. The post will devise media and campaign PR plans to achieve coverage of key messages. You will keep updated on the environmental policy agenda and translate complex policy messages into clear, accessible language.

You’ll need experience of leading media operations for a national organisation including working with senior journalists and be confident to act as media spokesperson. You’ll also have an ability to train and mentor our policy and campaigns staff helping to develop their media skills.
