The natural resources we consume and how we deal with the waste we generate represent key challenges to society. The character and beauty of the countryside is increasingly threatened by quarrying and wasteful, ever-increasing energy and water use.

Our campaigns
Our overall goal is to avoid the damage to the countryside by encouraging a reduction in overall consumption and more efficient use and better management of natural resources.

Climate change and energy
Our climate change and energy campaign argues for a truly sustainable renewable energy policy, which protects the countryside as well as the planet by promoting energy conservation, efficiency and the right renewable energy developments in the right locations.

Minerals
Our work on minerals policy includes showing the Government the damage that quarrying has on the landscape and wider environment, and how this can be significantly reduced by reform to minerals planning.
