Campaigners in Quorn are backing homegrown fruit and veg, and are calling for the parish council to set aside more local land and open space for allotments.

CPRE Leicestershire Vice-Chairman Graham Stocks says: ‘We are finding that there is a renewed interest in people wanting to grow their own food, but, like many places in recent years, Quorn has lost all of its allotment grounds to built development.’ With help from the Environment Law Foundation, campaigners are pressing for allotments that are within the village boundary.
