CPRE response to ‘rural proofing’ guidance

30 March 2017

CPRE has welcomed the Government’s new rural-proofing guidance which sets out how all new Government policies can be assessed to determine their impact on rural areas. Defra published the guidance in response to Lord Cameron of Dillington’s review in 2015.

"The key will be ensuring the guidance is used across Government and draft policies are adjusted if necessary to ensure a positive or fair impact on rural areas," said Belinda Gordon, CPRE head of rural affairs. "We look forward to working with Government departments to help ensure this happens."
