Nominations sought for onshore wind policy review

CPRE National Office starts new membership development activity

National Office is starting a rolling programme of membership development in June 2012, to include activity to reactivate lapsed members. This circular explains what we will be doing and when. We know that some branches already carry out their own activities to encourage lapsed members to re-join and, in order to ensure that our programme doesn’t clash with one that you are carrying out, we ask that these branches share details to help inform our plans.

New Report: Inexpensive Progress? A framework for assessing the costs and benefits of planning reform

Hardship Fund 2012

We have expanded the eligibility criteria of the Hardship Fund to enable branches with up to £30,000 in reserves to apply. The fund is to help branches improve customer care for their newly converted members. The Application Pack is attached. Summary of Action

Please note the launch of our new report, Protecting the wider countryside. Accompanying the report are maps of every local planning authority area and Westminster constituency, illustrating countryside not covered by a nationally recognised designation. We hope that the report and maps will be helpful evidence that local groups can use to influence planning outcomes in their area.

Localism Act 2011: new briefing available

Regional groups, branches and district groups are asked to note the publication of a CPRE briefing on the planning part of the Localism Act 2011 and to consider sending an attendee to a seminar on the Act proposed for 29 February. National office would welcome feedback about the briefing and how the legislation is being implemented on the ground.
