Circular ref: 09/12

Juliet Walker, Fundraising Development Manager

1.    Last September, the Supporter Review Working Group (SRWG) created the Hardship Fund - £20,000 for those branches that needed additional financial support to provide customer care for their newly converted members (from regular giving).

2.    This fund is administered by National Office, and branches are now eligible to apply to fund customer care initiatives, if they can demonstrate reserves of £30,000 or below.

3.    Please remember the Hardship Fund is designed to create a base level of good supporter care (ie a newsletter where there is none, a website, a dedicated membership volunteer) as well as cover costs incurred from the new cohort of converted members (from regular giving). However, it is not available to fund general fundraising (for example the printing of recruitment leaflets). Please see the Application Pack, for some examples of projects we are looking to fund.

4.    The Application Pack sets out the principles by which applications are to be assessed from SRWG. The Chair of the SRWG will assess the bids in accordance with the principles. The decision of the Chair of the SRWG is final.

5.    Completed applications are assessed on a first come first served basis.  Please send your application to Juliet Walker below.  You will be notified about the outcome of your application within one calendar month.

6.    If you have any queries or want some advice about your application, please feel free to contact Juliet Walker, Fundraising Development Manager who is happy to help: julietw@cpre.org.uk Wednesday 07739 332799, Thursday 020 7981 2845.

About CPRE circulars

CPRE Circulars are National Office’s key method of communicating national activities to CPRE groups – we appreciate that you will not always be able to implement the actions suggested but your co-operation is appreciated and feedback is welcome.

The e-circular is sent by email to the main contact in every CPRE branch and regional group. If you are in any doubt about how to distribute or follow-up this or any other CPRE Circular, please do not hesitate to contact the author for further advice.

Please do not distribute this circular externally as it contains information on how to access the Local Group Area of the website (username: visitor, password: gateway).
