Urgent appeal: Your countryside needs your help today

Saving the countryside for the benefit of everyone
This year we were thrilled when the South Downs became the 10th National Park. We could not have done this without the generous support of so many of you in helping make our campaign a success. This was an historic victory for us, rewarding us after 80 years of vigorous campaigning for National Parks.
Nationally we've saved vast areas of countryside by promoting a planning system that gives priority to development on previously developed ‘brownfield’ land. This has lead to urban regeneration creating places where we want to live and work, while protecting the countryside that we all love and enjoy. Locally we've achieved many successes, such as saving the Nottingham and Oxford Green Belts and defeating the widening of the M6 in Cheshire.

Thanks for your support
Many thanks to everyone who donated to our appeal in November last year. We were delighted with the generous response. Although we continue to face many challenges in 2010, the money raised has helped us get our work back on track after a difficult 2009 and will help us with our publicity, lobbying and research – thank you.
How to donate
Giving a donation online with a credit or debit card is quick, easy and secure. You can also donate over the phone with our freephone number 0800 163680.
