CPRE help prevent the destruction of 11.4km of hedgerows which form a vital part of the landscape character of Shropshire's Vale of Montgomery.

The Ash is the second most common hedgerow tree and its survival is crucial to the character of the English countryside

We have produced a new pocket guide to celebrate their richness, and to remind people of the importance of protecting England’s hedgerows for future generations.

We have been campaigning for hedgerow protection since the 1970s. We welcomed the introduction of the Hedgerows Regulations in 1997, but there is more we can do to ensure a better future for England’s hedgerows.
