It’s not every historic estate that has its own enchanted forest. With more than 200 acres of parkland and formal gardens to explore, Groombridge Place is a great destination for families. Budding adventurers can clamber on the pirate-themed playground, climb inside a tepee, ride on giant swings in the Swing Walk, or take a boat trip along the River Grom. For spectacular views of the forest canopy, walk along the Treetops Walkway – the longest and highest of its kind in the UK. Afterwards, put your wits to the test with an oversized game of chess.
