Warboys incinerator application to be reconsidered

16th November 2018

An application for a waste incinerator near Warboys that was approved will be re-opened for consideration.

Cambridgeshire County Council initially approved the application (H/5002/18/CW) in September 2018. However, the County Council’s Planning Committee said that some information was not available at the time they granted planning permission.

The site at Warboys Landfill Site, Puddock Hill is set to contain a heat and power plant that would process 48,000 tonnes of wood per year. It would also contain a water treatment plant to process 65,000 tonnes of waste water per year. We objected to the original application.

The Planning Committee will reconsider the application on 13 December 2018 at a meeting to be held in the Council Chamber at Shire Hall, Cambridge at 10am.

Only two matters will be considered:

  • Potential noise experienced by the occupants of the caravans at the western end of Fenside Road.
  • The effects of water vapour released from the proposed waste water treatment plant chimney on local atmospheric conditions.

The public is invited to attend.

If you would like to speak at the meeting you must register and provide a summary of what you are planning to say to the Democratic Services Officer (not the planning department) by Thursday, 6 December 2018. Each speaker will be given 3 minutes.
