Local food challenge

Local food challenge

Hundreds of you took up our 30:30 challenge and pledged to source 30% of your food from within 30 miles of where you live.

Local food is one of the things that makes England special. Our 30:30 challenge was a great opportunity for you to support your local economy and enjoy seasonal produce; to discover the best quality and freshest food around and the most distinctive varieties and tastes - and did you know that every £1 spent on local food generates £2.50 for the local economy?

There are thousands of local food producers and suppliers around the country. A 30:30 approach to eating is a chance to support your local food networks that are rich with variety and diversity – a chance we can all seize.
