James Nedham

We are delighted to nominate James Nedham for CPRE’s Everyday Excellence award in recognition of his outstanding commitment and positivity as a volunteer on the Hedgerow Heroes project at Preston Farm with the North West Kent Countryside Partnership.

James turned up to almost every hedgelaying day, demonstrating a level of reliability and dedication that made a real difference to the success of the project. Whatever the weather — and it rained a lot — James remained consistently cheerful and enthusiastic, lifting the spirits of everyone around him.

He worked incredibly hard throughout, particularly on the physically demanding task of dragging brash to the fire site, sometimes over distances of up to 100 metres. Despite the effort involved, he never complained once and simply got on with the job with good humour and determination.

At the end of the project, James also helped us celebrate with a thoughtful and well-timed toast of nosecco, bringing everyone together and perfectly capturing the friendly, supportive spirit he showed throughout. James truly embodies everyday excellence.
