Penny Hudd is a 2024 CPRE Trustee Award winner, nominated by CPRE Sussex in recognition of her incredible creativity, determination, commitment and hard work in delivering the Plant Your Postcode project and The Brighton and Hove Tree Festival. Find out more about why Penny was nominated here.

‘Penny has volunteered with CPRE Sussex as a Trustee since 2010. She also leads our Countryside Action Team which focuses on our external communications and community projects.’

‘It is Penny’s determination and hard work in creating and delivering community projects that we want to recognise and celebrate with a Special Trustee Award. Penny’s projects include Plant Your Postcode which, working with Brighton & Hove City Council and community groups, is planting street trees in the City alongside trees, wildflowers and hedging in parks and schools. Penny has plans to extend this to other towns and communities.’

‘Penny’s latest initiative – The Brighton & Hove Tree Festival – delivered an amazing experience through a programme of walks, talks, a photography competition and activities for schools in May this year. Penny worked tirelessly with local volunteers to create this wonderful programme and experience and is planning for 2025.’
