Pippa Schwartz – 2025 Volunteer Awards

Pippa has held the CPRE Gloucestershire Stroud Committee together over more years than anyone can remember. She has always done what is needed however much under pressure she might be from all her many other commitments. She is wise and measured in her judgements. Pippa is the kind of active and effective campaigner for the countryside that CPRE depends upon.

In particular she gets to grips with important planning matters, not only in her own village, but also in the Stroud DC area generally. She has recently been active in the long enquiry into Stroud DC’s proposed local plan, not only following its tortuous progress, but also making submissions to it and attending to give evidence. Pippa’s enthusiasm for, and dedication to, saving her local area from unacceptable development, as well as to preserving the look and feel of the special area where she lives, is matched by her delightful personality. We all warm to her as it is such a great pleasure working with her. Pippa has been a truly dedicated and outstanding volunteer for CPRE over very many years and we are delighted to support this very well-deserved award.
