Sally Pavey – 2024 Trustee Awards
Sally Pavey is a 2024 CPRE Trustee Award winner, nominated by CPRE Sussex in recognition of her incredible creativity, determination and hard work in delivering The Countryside Day. Find out more about why Sally was nominated here.
‘Sally has volunteered with CPRE Sussex as a Trustee since 2015. She is also Chair of Communities Against Gatwick Noise Emissions, the umbrella aviation community and environment group for Sussex, Surrey and Kent opposing a second runway being built at Gatwick and changes to flight paths. She also leads the Gatwick Airport community response Action Team.’
‘In addition to this challenging work, Sally has created and delivered the CPRE Sussex Countryside Day, in 2023 and 2024, at the Knepp Wilding Estate, and shared and encouraged other network groups to create their own events. It is this incredible work we want to celebrate and recognise with a Special Trustee Award. The Countryside Day reaches out to communities, celebrates all that is good about the countryside and seeks to educate, inform and inspire future generations to love and protect their countryside too.’
‘Sally juggled work, her family, Gatwick campaigning and worked tirelessly to create this wonderful event, successfully delivered for the second time in September this year.’
