CPRE continues progress on EDI in 2025 RACE Report
The 2025 RACE Report marks our third consecutive year of participation and reaffirms our commitment to building a countryside that is welcoming and inclusive for everyone.
This year’s RACE Report shows further progress in how CPRE is implementing inclusive practices that help make working in the organisation more appealing and supportive for people of colour. We have continued to work closely with our internal Allyship Group to challenge and improve recruitment, retention and development processes; ensuring they are genuinely inclusive and fair.
Racial diversity within CPRE is slightly higher than the environmental sector average, with 11% of staff identifying as people of colour. While this is an encouraging sign, we recognise it is still below representation in the UK population as a whole.
We remain committed to deepening diversity at all levels of the organisation and to learning from the RACE Report as we continue to improve.
Standing for a ‘countryside for all’ means recognising that racial diversity and inclusion are central to our mission and values.

CPRE Chief Executive, Roger Mortlock, said:
‘Taking part in the RACE Report is an important part of holding ourselves to account, being transparent about where we are, and identifying where we need to go next as we work towards a countryside — and an organisation — that is truly inclusive and works for everyone.’
