CPRE’s Cleaner Counties project, which was generously funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, ran for three years. It was a pilot project designed to test the assumption that improved co-ordination between statutory bodies with responsibility for litter could not only reduce costs but also reduce the amount of litter on the ground.
