Green Shoots 2022
We campaign on all sorts of issues, including countryside solutions to the climate emergency – like planting more hedgerows or rewetting our peatlands – and creating thriving rural communities by building more affordable homes in rural areas and bringing back rural buses. But like many charities in the environment sector, we lack diversity, in terms of race, class and background.
That’s why last year we launched our Green Shoots work scheme. We place a high value on equality, diversity and inclusion – not only because it’s the right thing to do but because we also know that diverse teams make much better decisions, are more creative and more stimulating to work in.
Last year, we welcomed two Green Shooters, Dilan and Tianna, to the national CPRE office based in London. They had no previous experience in the environment or charity sectors, or any kind of office work role. Watch their video to find out how Dilan and Tianna got on!
Green Shoots 2022
We’re delighted to be able to continue our Green Shoots scheme with two fantastic new roles starting in January 2023.
These two opportunities are London-based, aimed at young people who are at least 18 years old and who are usually disadvantaged due to their age, background, or level of education or experience in today’s society. Young people with Black African or Black Caribbean heritage are underrepresented at CPRE and are particularly encouraged to apply.
