Summary CPRE response to Planning white paper and proposals, 2020

This is a summary of the CPRE responses that were submitted to the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government on their Planning for the Future white paper and their consultation on proposed changes to the current planning system. If implemented, these proposals would cause dramatic changes to the planning system, giving rise to widespread concern.

In this summary of our submissions, we outline our main concerns linked to the threat that these proposals place on local democracy, green spaces and the provision of affordable housing – and offer alternative approaches.
